Case Study

Pool Steward

Pool Steward is a pool-maintenance-specific field app built from the RouteMaster pattern. It was designed to help technicians complete service routes, log work clearly, and keep the office informed without adding friction in the field.

Role Product adaptation, workflow mapping, mobile UX refinement
Focus Pool routes, service logging, mileage and visit reporting
Outcome A route app tailored to recurring pool service work

The Challenge

Pool service work requires repeatable visits, clear notes, route awareness, and reliable reporting. The product needed to support recurring maintenance without burying technicians under too many taps or too much admin overhead.

The Approach

Pool Steward kept the route-based mobile pattern but tailored it to this service domain: visit lists, visit detail screens, notes, optional location-aware check-in/out, offline-safe submission, and a work summary report with mileage, contact, and geo-validation details.

What It Demonstrates

  • Adapting a reusable field-service architecture to a real service vertical
  • Supporting technicians with route, visit, and reporting tools in one flow
  • Designing for reliability, traceability, and repeatable daily execution
